Anti-Existential Dread Card Deck

 

This project is inspired by the yogic practice of repeating mantras; focusing on a single phrase has the ability to help free your mind of background chatter and calm your nervous system. By pulling a card at random, the user is given an activity, quote, or breathing exercise to focus their mind on something positive or productive for a few moments, allowing them to recalibrate emotionally.

By crowd-sourcing anti-existential dread strategies from people in my life, I discovered new methods that I had never considered. People’s self-soothing techniques run the gamut between song-writing, cleaning, driving, and visualization exercises.
